Vintage inspired Birthday card

  Well, I've never been much for 'card' design... I always just look at the empty card and draw a total blank.. I have always admired the beautiful hand crafted cards that I have received in the past..So I thought I might as well give it a try.

Who better to make one for than one of my best friends Curney who's birthday is coming up! A few posts back, I showed you the necklace I was working on for her ( It turned out waaay cool! ) .

Anyone ever see the 'library card' blanks out there at the craft stores? I thought that was an original design style so I picked some up.

With some vintage papers and of course Pink glitter!! It turned out soo pretty.

   I also was able to find a bigger envelope to hide this lovely in...A beautiful vintage inspired card for a one of a kind beautiful friend!

Chimney View

Oh yes.. here is my 'folk art' painted chimney...

I would  so love to paint more realistic paintings... but hey, this is me... we had this chimney poking up in the middle of our bedroom (our 107 year old house remember )and well, that just wouldn't do! I got out my paints and painted this scene all the way 'round...

My point... see things... as a big canvas!

Lovely little goodies

Goodies abound ! I've been in my studio today and lovin' every minute of it. Lots of 'loved' , two 'Nanas' for some special people in our family... The first 'mini' clock charm turned out a bit hazy. I'm still trying to find a varnish that wont cloud up... I might just have to buck up and buy some 'Diamond glaze'. Scrumptious silver goodies! You know guys...all you have to do is holler via email and I'd love to make 'ya one.... Oh yeah! I added glitter to two! There is pink glitter in the one on the bottom and 'purple/white' in the one top left. Here is a necklace I am working on for one of my bestest friends... She is a grandma of 5! So, made her a 'Nana Nest' and added a fresh charm at the top... And a 'Nana' soldered charm to this little ring she can add to as she pleases...Happy Birthday Curney! I'm gonna add some more Swarovski crystals in white with some Bali silver beads... A fresh unique necklace for a fab lady!!

In Style Super

Yes, I am a Home design magazine junkie...I confess! Anything that has to do with Home decor... design.. loveliness...I gotta have it. I try and pace myself and allow only two subscriptions...Mary Engelbreit (who I am disappointed with...no more three home spreads! no more recipes! and too many adds.) and Traditional Home. Well, I was shopping the other day and spied this on the rack.. InStyle Home! Uhhmmmm...I'm there! Is there Interior Designers Anonymous? Oh please...LOL I just love this spread of Molly Sims home in New York. What is truly incredible and why I wanted to share is Molly is a fellow treasure hunter! Yes! Miss Sims loves antiquing...she doesn't rely on a designer she takes charge and styles her own life. I love it! Anyone notice the color scheme for the dinning room? ehem.. pink and gray... love it! Here is a picture of her office... She has a mannequin! Mine is covered with necklaces I am working on...Hers is cards! Mannequins are great!! Miss Sims purchased this picture of the bee herself in CA... I don't know...I just found it refreshing to see a celebrity take charge of her own 'style' and do it herself... Ahhh... eye candy without the calories.. love it!

It's here! After much teeth pulling and hard work by Hope Wallace,( I'm not the most organized person!lol) she has been able to revamp...remodel and just plain spiff up BellaColle.com! She is so proffesional and was so patient with me. Thank you Hope!

For a Song

      Ever spy a neat piece of furniture and forsake it because it might have a blemish or two? I know I used too.

    Then I found this guy at a local thrift store. My house is 107 years old and I just don't think they thought of closets back then. Actually I know they didn't. There where beautiful pieces of furniture to store things in!

   Well, on with my story. We don't have a linen closet upstairs and it was a real pain to walk up and down the stairs to get clean sheets or blankets. So, I  decided to forgo my snobbery and purchase this old veneered dresser. On the right side some of the veneer was gone.

  After looking at it...contemplating refinishing it...I came up with novel idea!

  I took some pages out of my beloved Baptist Hymnal and got out my trusty paintbrush and decoupage glue and set to work.

  So...now the ugly scar is covered! And the character of my little dresser was saved.

What are the songs?  Why, "Love lifted Me".."When the Roll is called Up Yonder" ..."Victory in Jesus"

Don't let a few blemishes deter you from scooping up that piece you've had your eye on..

Try seasonal candies, dried flowers or even sea shells! The list goes on with the possibilities of the wee glass domes...

Ghoulish Girlfriends

    Well, I finally was able to just sit and create today! Call it pent up frustration...call it inspiration...I'm just so thankful I was able to do it!

We all seem to be on the mends. When little one's get sick, it certainly is heart wrenching.

This 'Ghoulish Girlfriend' muffin tin came about by 'mashing' two fab ideas from Somerset's 'Holiday's & Celebrations.'

I'm not gonna let hiccups and set backs stop me! This is my second post here on Typepad... It won't be my last God willing! Any pointers would be most warmly welcome! ...I do have a few questions! How do I get my Flicker badge on the side?... Is is always this hard to get posts written and uploaded?

I am soo glad I am here... I know it will be a fabulous season here..

I hope to rise to the occasion... to learn the ropes here on TypePad... that this new blog will be a 'Pad' up on the journey that is Bella Colle.

A New home

Well, everyone... I've moved.. I'm here... Let's get this party started! LOL! I feel like 'I'm movin' on up to the top...to a deluxe apartment in the sky! ' ...just call me 'Wheezy!' 

This will take a bit getting used to! Just like when I learned 'Adobe Photoshop'...

Any pointers would greatly be appreciated!
