okay..when you hear the name 'Lilly Pulitzer'..what do you think of?
I think of the 'Queen of Pink& Green!'..of the fun and wonderful shift dresses... In her book here...she tells of a time when Jackie 'O' came in and bought one of her dresses.. it was actually made from kitchen curtain material..
Ultimate in resort wear... "hot weather dressing.. very resort, and colorful.." Lilly's dress has been a wardrobe staple of the casually chic for three generations..
in this book... there are soo many scrumptious recipes... Ahh..to fire up the grill..hear the steaks and veggies sizzling away..
to slip on my Lilly capris and flip flops..and finish the touches to outdoor table..in anticipation of friends that are due any moment...
or..how about treasure hunting at the South Florida Fairgrounds..or along the road here in Fish Creek..
"It's just somebody else's trash. But I love it.."- Lilly Pulitzer
Can't you just feel the warmth.. Lilly's classic style radiates it even in these last dreary days of Winter... warmth pleeease...
XO
I love the drawing of Palm Beach. My mother enjoyed making these simple a-frame dresses because they easy to create with only a few yards of fabric! I really don't remember the material being all that bright, bold and colorful! Maybe that was the Palm Beach style for the rich and famous. Thanks for the memory.

Well, I finally found my way back to you! Your blog banner is gorgeous, by the way and I love the "hot" story you wrote about the "Queen of Pink and Green!" Just a few more weeks of winter.
Ciao,
Suzanne

I can't wait to 'complain' about the heat!!! Not that they're gorgeous but I want to show my arms. Even in South Carolina, it's nippy! Soon!
